Montreal is a city that devotes a lot of its energy to public art, and what's on view at the Place Des Festivals in the city is the latest amazing installation.
It's called Impulse, and it's comprised of 30 illuminated seesaws, along with a series of video projection on nearby buildings. When people use the seesaws, they are "activated," which means they then produce a series of harmonious tones. Basically, it's like an adult art-lover's playground, and the photographs from the installation are almost as good as seeing it in person. See them below.
The seesaws are in line with one another, and they're all illuminated in correspondence with the projects on the building facades.
